By Sam Jactel, Founder & CEO, Ayble Health
When I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) almost 15 years ago, I entered a system that simply wasn't built for chronic care.
Over the course of nearly fifteen years, I’ve been misdiagnosed twice, seen six different gastroenterologists, and cycled through a cocktail of seven different medications to find relief from embarrassing, burdensome symptoms. Despite having top-tier access to medical care and being able to afford it, I’ve fallen out of remission six times. Along with physical pain, I carried the anxiety, frustration, and social taboo that comes with managing a serious GI condition.
The current healthcare model treats chronic illness in isolated bursts: you get a 15-minute appointment every nine months, a prescription, and are left to figure out the rest on your own. But as any patient will tell you, chronic conditions don't exist in a vacuum, and they certainly don't stop when you leave the doctor's office.
I built Ayble Health because it was the care I desperately wished had existed when I was diagnosed.
Understanding the Problem Better Than Anyone Else
GI conditions affect 70 million Americans and drive $136 billion in annual spending – costing more on aggregate in the US than trauma, mental health, or even heart disease. At the same time, nearly 70% of U.S. counties lack a single practicing gastroenterologist, forcing patients into 40-day waitlists, costly emergency rooms, or foregoing care completely.
Worse yet, complex digestive conditions like IBD rarely travel alone. A 2025 study of 141 million patients showed IBD is linked to 24 distinct autoimmune comorbidities. Patients aren't just dealing with digestive distress, they are very often navigating overlapping autoimmune conditions, mental health issues and other variables that need to be addressed in one comprehensive model of care. Yet, traditional healthcare forces them to navigate siloed specialists who rarely speak to one another.
Patients are forced to become the "CEOs" of their own disease, trying to connect fragmented care while navigating their daily lives.
Designing a Unique, Evidence-First Solution
At Ayble, we knew we couldn't just "move fast and break things." When you are dealing with a patient's health, you don't take shortcuts. Before taking a single dollar of institutional capital, we built, clinically tested, and published our research in peer-reviewed journals to prove our care model actually worked.
We designed Ayble around three core pillars to solve the systemic gaps in specialty care:
- Multidisciplinary Care: We pair patients with an integrated team of trained providers, registered dietitians, behavioral health specialists, clinical pharmacists, health coaches, and care coordinators. We treat the whole person, addressing dietary triggers, psychology, and clinical management together.
- AI-Powered Personalization (Human in the Loop): Chronic care is an $N=1$ problem; one size fits none. Powered by one of the largest GI datasets in the world, our AI models help our clinicians put our patients on the fastest path to real relief. Our technology acts as a co-pilot, keeping human clinicians involved to guide, empathize, and adapt care to the individual.
- Closing the Outcome Gap: By combining predictive technology with a multidisciplinary care team, we achieve a 47% average improvement in GI symptoms within four weeks, sustained for over a year. For enterprise partners, this translates to reduced high-cost emergency utilization, hospitalizations, pharmacy spend and a minimum 3:1 ROI.
The Next Horizon: Moving Into Autoimmune Health
Today, I’m thrilled to announce our $16 million Series A funding, led by Neon, bringing our total funding to over $27 million. We’re thrilled to also be backed by Unum Ventures, Cleveland Clinic, Upfront Ventures, DigiTx Partners, M13, Accomplice and several influential angels.
This milestone isn't just about growth; it's about expanding our footprint to meet the true reality of patient care. With this capital, we are deepening our AI precision capabilities and officially expanding our multidisciplinary care model into adjacent autoimmune conditions.
Patients don't experience their health in isolated categories, and their care team shouldn't operate in them either. We are building one unified, clinically-validated platform that meets patients exactly where they are - bringing dignity, accessibility, and real relief to millions.
To our team, clinical research partners, enterprise clients, and the patients who trust us every day: thank you. We are just getting started.
